Walkthrough Assassin's Creed Rogue PART 1

The Way the Wind Blows

Since this is the first memory, it will act as a tutorial for players who may not know the controls of an Assassins Creed game. You will begin by follow your fellow assassin around.

After a short run, a cutscene will trigger. Shortly after you will be chasing your colleague again. As you reach the top of the cliff, you will note a treasure chest to your right. Make sure to grab it!
Continue on and you will walk out across a tree and activate your first viewpoint. Once done, jump down and continue back to camp. When you get there, you will engage in a hand to hand battle with the angry captain. This is another tutorial, teaching you the basics of combat. After taking a few too many punches, the tutorial will end, and you will head towards the boat.

FREE THE SMUGGLERS

You will need to take out several British soldiers and free the smugglers in the area. Start by climbing along the tree and jumping down to assassinate the first soldier. Turn and walk to the second and stab him. Your ally will get the third soldier near the cart, so head towards the back of the cart and hide in the grass. A patrolling soldier will walk by, and he should spot his fallen comrades and run to them, walk up behind him and kill him, the sneak around behind the two crouched guys to get a double assassination. That's it for enemies here, so free the smugglers and grab any items you can see.

The next section requires you to climb on the boat. This part is simple, as all the enemies are in a convenient row for you to assassinate. Only one of them is patrolling, so just make sure to leave him until the end, or until he is turned around to kill him. After you do, a cutscene will play.

DEFEND DE LA VERENDRYE'S SHIP

After the cutscene, you will be in control of a boat. Follow the small canal forward until you reach open water, and you will begin to see ice bergs and boats in the distance. You will notice that the iceberg ahead of you is marked on the mini map with an icon. If you shoot it with your cannons, you can smash it and pick up a collectible item.
Once you have that item, continue sailing towards the battle, and as you get closer you will have to engage the enemies circling the ship. Taking them out shouldn't be an issue as they are all small boats and sink in quick order. After you successfully defend the ship, a cutscene will play and this memory will end.

Lessons and Revelations

Keeping with the trend of learning the game, this memory is about further teaching you the mechanics of the game. You will start out by meeting up with a group of other assassins.

After the cutscene ends, you will need to head to three different areas to complete training. We suggest you go speak with Liam first. He is going to teach you how to shoot. This is a very simple process, and if you are trying to get 100% sync, just remember to shoot twice, then reload while running to the next target.
After that, talk to hope and you will learn the basics of stealth and assassinations. If you want to get 100%, you will need to avoid being seen by the two patrolling men. This is fairly easy, as they walk in a simple circular fashion. The final test will be to follow Kesegowaase and then kill an elk. After doing so, you will need to craft some gun holsters, then return to Achilles.
After the cutscene with Achilles, you will finish this memory and be allowed to roam freely.

Tinker Sailor Soldier Spy

This memory begins by speaking with Liam near the docks at the homestead.

After speaking with him, you will need to sail north. You can take some time to explore the open seas if you like, but we suggest you just stick to your mission for now.
As you sail through the northern waters towards your objective, you will pass by a lot of enemy ships. Although you can fight them, it may be best to sail quickly through, as there are several ships here and they might overwhelm you.
Once you reach the objective, speak to the Assassin there. You will get back on your ship and have to locate the Royal Navy Schooner.
The schooner is marked on your map, so quickly sail towards it. This mission is going to teach you how to board enemy vessels. They key is to drop their health into the red range, without killing them. Once they are in this state, you can float beside them and board them. Boarding a vessel allows you to obtain a lot more money and loot.
After looting the vessel, you will need to sail to a nearby port. Here you will unlock the ability to upgrade your ship. Once you have bought the hull armor, get back on your boat and sail towards Anticosti. Once there, enter the marked house and you will view a cutscene. Once it is over, the memory will end.

By Invitation Only

When you speak with Liam, you will initiate a cutscene where you learn about Washington. Achilles will order you to find him, and deal with him.
Return to your ship and begin sailing away. You will need to find which ship has Washington on it, but it's fairly easy as it's the largest one. Use the spyglass to mark it, or simply sail very close to it and you will trigger a chase.
Follow it for a short time, and you will eventually be told about a blockade, and you will need to quickly dock with the land. Run off your ship, and begin chasing the vessel on foot.
Your goal is the boat, so make your way there. There are civilians in this town, so make sure you don't just start stabbing everyone. Once you are on the boat, there are three soldiers that you must kill, then grab the item. Turns out it's a stealthy new weapon!
Now that you have the gun, you need to find Washington. Follow the marker, and on your way there, make sure to shoot 4 soldiers with the berserk darts. You don't need to stick around to watch what happens, just shoot and carry on.
Once you have done that, climb the wall and jump into the garden party. Make your way towards the marked area without getting seen. This part isn't optional, so if you are seen, you will be forced to restart.
Once you get near the marked area, turn on your eagle vision to spot Washington. This will trigger a brief cutscene with him, his brother and some other Templar.
After the cutscene, you will need to kill Washington. Your optional objective is to do so while blending in with a crowd. Although there are several ways, we found one that was quick and easy. From where the cutscene ends, run right along the building then turn left. There will be a guard patrolling before you, and a guard on the roof, a little further away.
Shoot these two with sleep darts, then run forward into the bush on the other side of the arced walkway. Sometimes a guard is looking at this bush, so if he is, wait a moment. If he has passed it by already, run from the bush and stand in the group of civilians in front of you. Washington will soon walk by, and you can easily stab him.

After the cutscene, you need to make a hasty escape. Don't bother fighting, just turn tail and run towards your ship. Once you are aboard, start sailing at your top speed away from the area. After a minute or two you will leave the hostile zone and the memory will end.

One Little Victory

After speaking with them, you will be told to give chase to Smith. You will also be told that your ship has been upgraded with new cannons. Get back to your ship and start sailing towards the marked area. Once there, either sail near the ship you need to chase, or search around with the spyglass to find it.
Once you find it, Smith will start running from you. Give chase, and you will have to blow up mines he lays in the water. Use your new cannons to do so, as they shoot rapidly and have unlimited ammo.
After the mines, you will give chase through some ice. Don't worry, your ship can take it, so just smash through it all and keep chasing him. Once through the ice, you will be ambushed by 4 vessels.
Take out the three small ones first, but make sure you use your new cannons to do so, as you won't get 100% sync otherwise. Once you have sunk the small boats, you can sink the big one. Your small cannons won't deal much damage to it, however you can target weak spots with them to cause explosions within the ship. These weak points appear as the boat takes damage from your main cannons.
Once all the boats are dealt with, start heading towards the objective marker. Soon you will catch back up to Smith. He will flee again, and this time leave fire in his wake. You need to sail after him while dodging the fire, which isn't as difficult as it may seem. You will quickly catch him again, but this time you must disembark onto land.
Your goal now is to kill Smith, however if you want 100% sync, you must get an air assassination. The easiest way to do this is kill the look out in the tower. Climb up here, then you can jump from tree to tree until you are above Smith. Jump down on him and you will view a scene, and end this memory.

We The People

We the people begins once you meet back up with Liam. There will be a short cutscene, then you will be free to head towards your goal.

Once the scene ends, you will need to head towards congress. It is near by, so you can make a straight run for it, but if you want the 100% sync, you will need to be sneaky about it. Once the cutscene ends, turn left and climb along the tree and on to the roof of the small building.
Below you will be two foes, while other patrol. Once the two beneath you are alone, quickly assassinate them, then run forward up the rocks in front of you. This needs to be done quickly, as the patrolling guards will return to find the bodies before to long. Once up the rocks, run over the house and jump down to the congress meeting.

When this cutscene ends, you will need to chase a messenger and kill him. The easiest thing to do is run after him and pull out your berserk darts. If you shoot him quickly, he will go mad right in front of his fellow soldiers, causing them to kill him, and allowing you to remain hidden.
With him dealt with, head to the fort and go to the far right side. There will be stuff you can climb along that will let you get inside. Once in the fort, run along the top section, killing guards who get in your way. Your target will be patrolling a small area on the opposite side of the fort, so once you make your way there, simply wait until he returns then air assassinate him.

After the cutscene ends, you will need to make a hasty exit. There isn't much use in fighting, so simply make a run for the gate and exit the fort, then keep on running until you reach the safety of your boat.

Fiat Lux

This memory will begin once you have met up with Hope. You will be off to visit Benjamin Franklin.

After the cutscene, you will run off to find Franklin's lightning rods. If you want to get 100% here, you must do this entire mission without being caught, so keep that in mind.
Your first goal is to find the goods. This part is fairly simple, as the area is marked and you can use Eagle Vision to identify them. Once you have, you will need to tail a solider. This entire part is best done on a roof. Moving from roof to roof greatly reduces your chances of being seen, and as you chase the soldier, this is a great way to have eyes on him while being out of sight all the time.

Eventually the soldier will lead you into a field. The guards patrol here slowly, so you can easily learn their patterns and move through the crops. You can whistle to lure some of the guards into the crops and kill them, but make sure to not get seen!
Once you have a clear path to the barn, enter and get the rods. You will have to make your way back to Benjamin Franklin. Simply take the same path back as the one you took here, and you will be fine. Once you return to the house, the memory will end.

Kyrie Eleison

This mission will begin when you reach hope. After the cutscene plays out, another will begin as you arrive at your new destination.
When you finally regain control of Shay, you will be inside a large cathedral. Your goal here is to interact with 4 switches, to activate the floor. To find them, you will need to climb up to the upper sections of the church. Constantly use Eagle Vision to spot them. They are easy to see, and fairly simple to reach.

The first, and easiest one to reach is above the large wooden doors. There is one located on either wall as well. The final one you will need to jump on the chandelier that is high up on the ceiling, then jump from it, to the metal bars. From here you can climb up the sides and to the final switch.
Once you activate all 4, climb back down to floor level and go to the emblem. A stairwell will appear, so follow the path forward to find the Artifact. When you touch it, things will quickly turn south, so start running from the church. The following part simply requires you to keep running. There are no fights, or items to pick up.

Eventually you will jump through a window into the ocean, and then be picked up by the Morrigan. Some cutscenes will follow, and then the memory will end.

Freewill

This memory will officially begin when Shay finds himself sitting at a campfire. Head towards the house once you finally gain control of Shay.
When you reach the house, head upstairs and turn on Eagle Vision. You will see a desk glowing through the walls. Approach it and interact with it to trigger a cutscene between Shay and Achilles. After, you will find yourself fleeing from the Assassin's.
The following section is much like the running section from the previous memory. Although you can fight everyone, to get the 100% sync, you need to just run. Make sure to avoid any fires, and any red AoE circles that appear on the ground.
When you get near the end, enemies will start chasing you down rather quickly. To get the 100%, you simply can't stop. You also can't take any damage so if an enemy runs towards you make sure to give them plenty of space and run around. Keep in mind that your health must actually fall for you to fail the bonus objective, so if you get tackled or pushed, you won't fail as those attacks don't hurt you.

When you reach your goal, a series of cutscenes will play, and the memory will end.
